EHF Executive Board Meeting Brussels June 2010

The second Executive Board meeting of 2010 was held on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th June.

The Board received reports from the following Committees:

· Appointments

· Coaching

· Development Projects

· Competitions Indoor

· Competitions Outdoor

· Umpire Development

· Marketing

EuroHockey Indoor Nations Championships 2012 : The following venues were approved: 

Men:

§  Championship: Berlin, Germany, 20 - 22 January 2012. *

§  Championship II: Lignano, Italy, 13 - 15 January 2012.

§  Championship III: Porto, Portugal, 20 – 22 January 2012. *

Women:

§  Championship: Berlin, Germany, 20 - 22 January 2012. *

§  Championship II: Slagelse, Denmark, 20 – 22 January 2012.

§  Championship III: Porto, Portugal, 20 – 22 January 2012. *

Note: * Joint tournament at same venue.

EuroHockey Club Champions Challenge II, Wels, Austria 21 – 24 May:

Due to the unacceptable last minute withdrawal of HFTC Vilnius from the above tournament the Executive Board have imposed the following penalty:

HFTC have been banned from playing in any EHF Outdoor Club event for the years 2011, 2012 and 2013.

The Lithuanian Hockey Federation will only be allowed to enter one (1) Ladies team in the EuroHockey Club Champions tournament in 2011.

The Board also directed the Lithuanian Hockey Federation to make arrangements to assist the organising club with the financial costs incurred by the late withdrawal.

Finance:

The Hon. Treasurer, Sergio Melai presented his report following the meeting of the Finance meeting held on Thursday 3rd June.

It was noted that Auditors have completed the audited for the 12 month period ending 31st December 2009 and the accounts together with the Auditors report will be presented to the General Assembly at its meeting in November.

Following a recommendation received from the Finance committee which the Board unanimously accepted it was agreed subject to no payment being received by the 15th June not accept the entries from Bulgaria and Serbia & Montenegro for the 2011 Indoor Club tournaments due to their failure to pay their debts to EHF.

Euro Hockey League:

The Board received a report from EHLL Board members Marijke Fleuren and Jorge Alcover on the season 2009/2010. The Board expressed their pleasure on the success of the event.

The Board members informed the board of the outcome of a meeting held on Thursday 3rd June with the Working Group and noted various suggestions for the new season.

Values:

A report was received from Marijke Fleuren on the way forward. Various points have been included into the EHF Strategic Plan. It was noted that a further report would be received from the working group at the Board meeting in September on this important topic.

Strategic Planning:

Following a full discussion on this subject and after reviewing the FIH Strategic Plan the Board approved the Strategic Plan for the EHF.

The plan will now be sent to the FIH and will be circulated to the Member Associations at the General Assembly in November.
